Summer Seasonal Staff Application Process
This information will help you understand the hiring process at Camp Friendship. Please remember that we only seek candidates ready to commit to working with youth and being positive role models. We look for creative, enthusiastic and hardworking individuals who appreciate outdoors and support the ideas of residential camping. All jobs are important therefore the hiring process involves several stages.

Step 1: Learn about our camp
Please carefully read all the information regarding camp programs, philosophy and daily schedules. The summer season will include 9-10 weeks of camp plus one or two weeks of staff training depending on the position.

Step 2: Learn about the jobs
Click here to read about the positions available. Please pay attention to the age and qualifications requirements. Do not choose a position you might not qualify for. It is OK to choose more then one position if you possess skills in multiple areas. The positions listed also provide information about the salaries. The salaries listed are not final, as the decision will be made after the hire is complete. All the salaries are adjusted on individual basis in accordance with the applicant’s experience and qualifications.

Step 3: Apply
As you get familiar with all the details mentioned above you need to apply on-line. Please take enough time to complete the application. It is very important to answer all the questions thoroughly as we take hiring very seriously and this is the first piece of information we receive from you. Please look over your application one more time before you submit it. Email us if you have any questions regarding application process.

Step 4: Submit References
Your application is not complete without references. It is important that you provide a minimum of two references on your application who can comment on your character and qualifications. Recommendations from references weigh heavily in the hiring process; please take this part very seriously. Make sure your references are not family-related to you and have known you for a long period of time to be able to comment on your abilities. If you have experience working at a camp, please make sure to request a reference from the directors. We require a minimum of two references to be submitted along with your application. References will receive an email directly from Camp Friendship requesting them to complete an online reference form once you complete your application. You must provide accurate email and contact information for this purpose.  Additional reference letters may be faxed to 434-589-5880 or mailed in to Camp Friendship, P.O. Box 145, Palmyra, VA 22963 (mark the envelope as STAFF APPLICATION)

Step 5: Submit background check forms
Upon receiving and reviewing all the necessary information we will contact you to discuss the application and set up time for an interview.  Once we are prepared to move forward we will contact you via email with background check form procedures and documentation.
